Join us in welcoming our new husbandry intern, Lexy Avonda. Lexy brings great experience to the Lemur Conservationn Foundation’s internship program. From Burlington, Vermont, she is a graduate of the University of Vermont with a B.S. in Biological Science.
Lexy is passionate about caretaking and has experience in both child care and as a licensed nursing assistant in inpatient psychiatry.
She is excited to join the LCF team for the opportunity to learn about what goes into caring for our lemur colony as well as our conservation and education programs and to begin her journey to becoming a veterinarian.
LCF’s 3-month unpaid husbandry internships at our reserve in Myakka City, Florida include onsite housing, professional development opportunities, and experience at an Association of Zoos & Aquariums certified-related institution. To learn more, click here.
