We’re excited to share an update to a previous post about reconstruction at Camp Mantella, Marojejy National Park’s first camp. We’ve recently installed new beds and completed other minor repairs. The reconstruction is now complete!
Thanks to a grant from Seacology, LCF coordinated the construction of four new bungalows and a new shower and toilet building. This is the most visited camp in the SAVA region and was badly damaged by Cylcone Enawo in 2017. Ecotourism, a primary objective of the Lemur Action Plan, has declined in Marojejy in recent years. We’re excited for researchers and tourists to visit the newly renovated Camp Mantella.
