Kathleen Miller
Community Service Volunteer
Dubois, WY and Anna Maria, FL
Kathy was born in New York. She migrated to the Midwest and attended William Rainey Harper College. She married in St. Louis. While raising her children in St. Louis, Minneapolis and Salt Lake she volunteered as a tutor in schools, on church projects and for community charities.
During her time in St. Louis she spent five years as a Docent at the St. Louis Zoo. Kathy was fortunate enough to work and study under Ingrid Porton “Our Lady of the Lemurs.” She also taught classes to elementary students using a variety of live amphibians, reptiles, bird and mammals. A highlight of her time there was when she served as a surrogate mother for three baby gorillas.
She moved to Dubois, Wyoming as her husband neared retirement to be the general contractor for their home on a ranch. They now split their time between Anna Maria, Florida and Dubois, Wyoming where she continues her community volunteering.
