Tsambiky’s Scintillating Forest Fun

February 10, 2022 by Lemur Conservation Foundation

October began an exciting time here at LCF as we began introducing our 2021 infants to the forests! The first to begin this adventure was five-month-old red ruffed lemur female Tsambiky! Tsambiky took many of her cues from her forest-expert family members, including big brother Frezy! Many of you may recall Frezy was scared of the forest during his initial introductions in 2020, taking several months to realize how fun the forest can be. Not so with Tsambiky!

Tsambiky showed no hesitation as she ran right out into the forest and start climbing trees with her family group. Tsambiky and Frezy have a fantastic sibling relationship and Frezy definitely influenced Tsambiky’s readiness to explore her new surroundings.

These days, Frezy and Tsambiky are regularly found bouncing around in their free-range forest home along with group members Ravina, Tsikey, Rivotra, and Nify.
