Michael is originally from Mokena, Illinois and spent his high school and early college career interning at the Brookfield Zoo. There, he worked in the education department presenting zoo chats and engaging guests with ambassador animals. He also spent some time at Mote Marine Laboratory collecting data on wild bottlenose dolphin populations. In 2020, he transferred to the University of Florida to pursue a BS in Zoology with a minor in Wildlife Ecology and Conservation. While in school, Michael volunteered at the Lubee Bat Conservancy and completed a husbandry internship at LCF. After graduating college, he enthusiastically returned to LCF as a keeper and looks forward to working with endangered lemurs.
