Emily joined the Lemur Conservation Foundation from the Smithsonian National Zoological Park, where she was assistant curator of primates.
She has a master of science in applied ecology & conservation biology from Frostburg State University and a bachelor of science in biology.
In addition to being highly skilled in caring for primates and other species, her experience includes coordinating programs, teams, and personnel in research and zoo environments; animal enrichment; coordinating intern and staff programs and training; and creating and implementing policy and protocols that facilitate compliance with U.S. Department of Agriculture and Association of Zoos and Aquariums’ (AZA) regulations. She is also Behavioral Management Chair and Education Advisor for the AZA’s Prosimian Taxon Advisory Group.
