LCF staff member Charles Rasolondravoavy

Charles Rasolondravoavy

Forest Monitoring Manager
Sambava, Madagascar

Charles is originally from Sambava, in northeastern Madagascar.  Impressively, he completed his Masters and DEA degrees in the Department of Biology at University of Antananarivo. He studied how forest edges affect Milne-Edwards’ sifakas distribution and habitats in southeastern Madagascar.  In recent years, Charles spent several field seasons studying the ranging behavior and ecology of Decken’s sifakas in western Madagascar.   He has much experience conducting lemur surveys using line transect sampling.  Since the start of 2020, he has been working for Lemur Conservation Foundation to expand the forest monitoring program.
