2020 Giving Challenge

Get in on the action! Support the Lemur Conservation Foundation during the 2020 Giving Challenge, an exciting 24-hour online giving event taking place April 28-29, noon to noon. Show your commitment to endangered lemurs and our planet with your donation. You can make a world of difference!

To strengthen giving during the 2020 Giving Challenge, The Patterson Foundation will provide a 1:1 match for all unique donations, up to $100 per donor, per organization. Your donation of $25 to $100 to LCF is doubled!

And, for your donation greater than $100—for example, $150, $250, $500 or more—The Patterson Foundation will donate $100. Your gift to protect lemurs becomes $250, $350, $600 and so on!

LCF is thrilled to be a part of this event again! Our 2018 Giving Challenge supporters were amazing. Nearly 200 donors generously surpassed our goal of $7,000 with over $12,200 raised by individual online gifts. With the outstanding match of $11,431 from The Patterson Foundation, we were incredibly grateful to all for making it our most successful Giving Challenge. This year, we’ve raised the bar to $15,000 for endangered lemurs. Today, bookmark LCF’s Giving Challenge profile for April 28-29, noon to noon.

With 95% of over 100 lemur species threatened with extinction, we need to work together more urgently than ever.

Your 2020 Giving Challenge partnership will allow us to expand vital conservation programs that are helping to protect endangered lemurs. With the wonderful 2020 Giving Challenge outreach by the Community Foundation of Sarasota County, your incredible support, and the generous 1:1 match by The Patterson Foundation, together we can make a world of difference for these animals and our planet with programs in Florida, throughout the U.S. and half a world away in the rainforests and communities of northeastern Madagascar.

Be The One

What does the theme, Be The One, mean to the Community Foundation of Sarasota County and all of the nonprofit organizations participating in the 2020 Giving Challenge?

  • Each and every person can be the one to make a difference during the Giving Challenge.
  • Everyone, no matter the size of their gift, can be a philanthropist.
  • Together, our region can be the one to make significant community impact through philanthropy.

For the Lemur Conservation Foundation, the theme also means:

You can Be The One to make a world of difference for endangered lemurs

Be the One to Make a World of Difference by Supporting LCF Reforestation Programs
Be The One to Make a World of Difference through LCF Art programs
Be The One to Make a World of Difference by Supporting Scientific Research
