Mary Fussell’s artistic career has spanned over 35 years and
is both broad and eclectic. In addition to her more conventional
work, she has designed sets for Off-Broadway productions for such
renowned directors as Tom O’Horgan, created the art slide
presentation for the international tour of Rock’n Roll’s
Emerson Lake and Palmer, and designed and executed 12 stunning
stained glass windows for a large synagogue in Connecticut. Best
known for her paintings, Ms Fussell’s work has been shown in
over 40 exhibitions, including many one-woman shows. She has worked
extensively on commissions for individuals and corporations. Her
paintings are represented in several galleries in New England and in
private collections throughout the country. Ms Fussell studies at
Sarah Lawrence, The Boston Museum School and Lyme Academy of Art in
Old Lyme, CT. She visited the lemur reserve in late spring, 2002, to
create this beautiful portrait in pastels of the LCF mongoose family
– Christina, Gustavo, and Alejandro for our 2003 calendar.
